Allegiant by Veronica Roth
Allegiant Holy Sylvia Poggioli! I finished reading this book a while ago and I am still not sure I can talk about it. After I read Mockingjay, every time someone mentioned the book I would tear up. This might be worse. Now I might cry and feel like I got punched in the face.
Wow what a book. I don't think this is a book that I can say I *enjoyed,* that wouldn't be the right word. It wasn't a pleasurable read, in that I liked what was happening to the characters. But it was amazing. I am having a hard time talking about it without revealing spoilers.
Veronica Roth is brave. She make strong choices and I think if she hadn't made those choices, I would feel like she wimped out.
This might be the strangest book review I ever wrote but I give the book 5/5 stars.

Relish Relish
Relish is one of the best books I have read so far this fall. There's a lot of buzz about this food oriented memoir of a graphic novel and it is warranted. Author and illustrator, Lucy Knisley recounts her life with food. She was lucky enough to be born into a family of foodies and while Lucy grew up eating things that most kids wouldn't even consider, she also had an appreciation for junk food that horrified her mother and father a like. A favorite part of the book was the recounting of a trip to Mexico with family friends. This part of the book will make this quirky graphic novel fly off the shelves once the word spreads among the users of my library.
Knisley also includes recipes for some of the foods that she mentions which offer a hands on opportunity for curious readers to try some their hand at cooking.
I cook a lot and we are adventurous eaters in our house, this book made me want to get a part time job at a farmer's market or the upstate equivalent of Dean and Deluca (which really doesn't exist). But then I realized that was completely insane and there was no way that could possibly happen so I will content myself with more cooking and reading about cooking and food.
